DESCRIPTION
This underwater video course will be offered for beginner and intermediate students.
The course is customized to meet each student's individual needs, depending on student's prior experience and goals.
The course is organized and developed with a strong emphasis on hands-on practice, keeping theory and classroom hours to a minimum. The idea is to offer students an exciting and fun experience, while maximizing time spent in the water diving, shooting and having fun!
Each day of instruction includes 1-2 hours of theory and two dives.
During the dives, we practice the principles discussed during the theory portion of the class.
The instructor is with the students for the full duration of each dives, so each student has a chance to get personalized assistance underwater as needed. A Divemaster will also be assisting, for additional safety.
On each day of instruction, at the end of the planned 2 dives, the instructor and the students come back to Sam's Digital Photo Center and spend some time reviewing 5 minutes of each student's best shots for that day. The Instructor will give constructive feedback to each student, and will discuss how each student can improve upon those images during the next dives.
We also review new principles and techniques of underwater video (to be applied during the dives of the following day), prepare camera gear for the next day, etc.
Basic elements of video editing are also included with this course.
More advanced elements of photo or video editing are optional, and can be provided upon request ($200 per student, per day - see "Post-workshop additional training" above).
Sam's Tours Digital Photo & Video Center is equipped with 5 state-of-the-art photo and video Mac editing stations, CD and DVD burners, duplicators, memory card readers, camera stations, battery charging units, etc. Perfect for the needs of small groups of underwater imaging students.
By the time the students are done with the class, they will be able to bring home a nice sampler of their best video shots, and a ready-to-watch DVD of their underwater videos.
At the end of the class, each student gets a backup of all his/her "best video shots", and is given an Ocean Wonders / Sam's Tours Certificate of Completion and Complimentary T-shirt.
Each student will also be given a 15% discount voucher to be redeemable by the student on his next underwater imaging workshop through Ocean Wonders & Sam's Tours.
